Northeast Syria: Commodity prices diverge as post-transition governance fragments markets

Field data from 7 cities across northeast Syria (November 2025 – March 2026) reveals significant price fragmentation between localities, with flour prices ranging from 2,500 to 10,000 SYP/kg. Conditions are deteriorating but not yet critical — the majority of respondents report worried or fearful public mood, restricted movement, and low job availability.

Each Situational Report follows our published data methodology. Field entries accumulate over time. When our signal detection system identifies a pattern — a price spike, an accumulation threshold, or an elevated Early Warning Score — the data is compiled, cross-referenced against external benchmarks, and published for review.

We do not publish on a fixed schedule. Reports appear only when the data warrants it.
